I just received an email from the Field Director in the DR which included an update on their needs and the roles I could be filling.
Here are the ways I will be serving as of today:
1) Assistant Computer teacher
2) 5th-8th Grade English teacher
3) Afternoon girls sports coach
4) ANIJA child sponsorship coordinator
Now, most of my friends and family know that I am more of a math person than English, needless to say that I am a little intimidated to teach English in a Spanish-speaking country. After taking a deep breath, I started thinking about all of the friends and family that are praying for me and continue to feel a peace about where God has me. Please continue to pray for me as I leave in three weeks and still have several things to do.
Psalm 138:8
"The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your love, O Lord, endures forever- do not abandon the works of Your hands."

Over the last two weeks I have packed up my stuff, said many good-byes or better yet "see you later," visited friends in North Carolina, gone on a women's retreat with my church, Southcoast Community, and moved to Arizona. Now I am officially back in Az and anticipating my departure for language school in Guatemala on Friday, July 10th. As of now, I will be in Guatemala for 5 weeks and going to school 7 hours a day. Then it's off to the Dominican Republic on August 15th!
